NOTE:The following headcanons are in no particular order or category, but may contain triggering subjects like: child abuse, abuse, torture, sexual assault, and various other things due to her difficult past. Please be aware of this before proceeding for your own mental wellbeing.

✦ FEAR Robin is someone who doesn’t have normal fear reactions, as shown in her canon where she barely bats an eye at some of the most horrifying things the world has to offer. Ghosts? Zombies? Mangled Corpses? Monsters? Imminent, painful death? The running gag is often that she’ll even “joke” about things like that in the form of emotionless, frank observations.( i.e: “Do you think the water will be dyed red if we’re crushed to death?” or “I don’t think they were eaten, there are no scraps of flesh or splashes of blood anywhere…“)
& As funny as that is portrayed to be, the sad truth is that she just physically CANNOT feel fear anymore at most things.She’s already experienced debilitating, mind-numbing fear so many times during her childhood and growing up that her brain essentially numbed those receptors as a form of protection.
Of course, she can still feel intense stress and shock, but true fear is reserved for only the most horrifying things to her.& As also shown in her canon, the only thing that really, truly scares Robin is being cast aside as a burden by someone she finally allowed herself to love or losing that someone. & While this might make her an asset during battle with her unflinching focus and lack hesitation against any sort of threat, it’s incredibly sad to realize that she just… doesn’t have the capacity to be afraid anymore. It was just burned out of her long ago.

✦ SPEECH AND VOCABULARY Robin speaks in a very elegant way, but while one might think that that is just because of her personality, it’s actually because of a few key factors.One of those factors being that when she was very young and living with her aunt and uncle while her mother was off at sea on an expedition, her aunt forced her to speak a certain way whenever she was allowed to speak, so as to “not embarrass the family any further” (despite having a loud, crass mouth herself at home) and it stuck.Tl;dr: Robin doesn’t like the taste of swears on her tongue because they were often beaten out of her if she said something wrong or said it the wrong way.Even over two decades later with her aunt long dead, she still finds it difficult to use swears and curses out of more of a reflex than anything else. She’ll still tell you to get fucked, of course, but she’ll do it in such an eloquent way that it’s often worse and more insulting than if she just told you to get fucked straight up. (Way to get around that conditioning, Queen.)The second factor is just how much she read as a child. As books were often her only company, she acquired a very large vocabulary very young. It grew from there, sometimes even taking on speech patterns from books like how one might write in the style of the last book they read.Somewhere along the way, these factors coalesced into her current speech pattern.

✦ RELIGION Robin was raised religiously by her aunt and uncle while she lived with them from the age of two to eight while her mother was away on an expedition.
Her aunt, of course, hateful and abusive as she was, beat it into her (both metaphorically and literally) that she was a sinful child. Her aunt drilled into her that she had been born sinful, that her mother didn’t even want her, and that her only recourse in the eyes of God was to behave, be silent, and obey her while she lived in their household.She was a nuisance and a leech, after all.Mind you that this was the same woman that took her husband and daughter out for a fancy dinner for the latters birthday while leaving some bread for Robin to eat with a note saying not to use too much jam and a list of backbreaking chores, so it's doubtful that she didn’t use religion as a way to try and control her too.All of this is to say that when Robin was first starting out on the run, she prayed. She prayed night after night through tears and cuts and bruises just like she’d been taught that God would hear her, that someone would come and protect her and she wouldn’t be alone and hurting anymore. She even tried other gods, begging for someone to hear her.Her prayers, clearly, went either unanswered or ignored, which is why Robin is not religious, and is often highly skeptical of it. Though she will be respectful so long as someone doesn’t try and use their beliefs against her or others.It also didn't help her self-hatred, of feeling like she was born wrong or a demon child.

✦ COFFEE Robin started drinking coffee while she was on the run because it could keep her up, awake and relatively alert for long periods of time when it wasn’t safe to sleep. She tried drugs once to get the same effect, but didn't like the potential dependance and lack of control that it presented.

✦ FOOD Even when Robin was living on Ohara, her birthplace, she never got enough to eat. From going days at a time without food because her aunt and uncle forgot or she was being punished, to barely being able to eat a slice of bread without being hounded about being a burden.People in town not only hated her because of her powers and how odd she was, but also because she would sometimes be caught stealing food out of the trash, only to be beaten for it once word got back to her aunt- she'd embarrassed them.Unfortunately, however, what she learned while trying to survive on Ohara would only be put to use again and again after she was forced to live her life on the run.After a while she lost count of how many times she’d almost died from starvation or dehydration, or how many times she had to dig through trash cans or dumpsters in alleyways and behind shops before sleeping behind them after scarfing down whatever edible or barely edible things she could find.When she was working for other criminals down the line for protection it was hardly any better.Always the odd one out no matter where she was and one more mouth to feed, she was rarely given any rations more than what would just keep her alive — after all, if she was weak from hunger then she’d be easier to manipulate or overpower.This of course, lead to her tendency to hide food when she was living somewhere for a longer period than usual. From pulling back baseboards to carving out a false bottom of a barrel to hide stashes of rice or grains, she was always ready to flee at a moments notice, never knowing when her meals would stop or where they would come from next.She had no choice but to stockpile what she could in the event she had to run. It’s a subconscious habit she still carries.TL;DR; Overall, Robin’s relationship with food is complicated. On one hand, her lifestyle gave her a strong stomach and taught her how to be resourceful, how to hunt her own food and make traps - how to survive. But it also gave her crippling anxiety about when she might go hungry next, or when she may be eating too much - never wanting to be a burden to those who have been so kind as to actually feed her, even subconsciously.Bonus: She never really developed many likes and dislikes because she never had the luxury to and will eat almost anything you put in front of her. Except for gum. It’s absolutely disgusting to her and also gives the illusion of eating something while still having an empty stomach.

✦ SCENT AND HYGIENE One might think Robin is the kind of woman that enjoys expensive fragrances, but in truth she’s not a fan of heavily-scented things like perfume or artificial body wash. Instead she’ll usually go for products without a smell or if she does use one with it, it’s very light.All of which is if she has a choice of course, otherwise, just being clean is a priority. She hate's feeling dirty, as it reminds her of how often she'd gone without bathing in the past while on the run.Because of that, her usual scent is a mix of clean laundry and just the slightest hint of lavender or another floral/earthy note. Her powers also leave behind just the ghost of a floral scent as well after she uses them. Like, you know its a flower you’re smelling, but you can’t quite place it and it fades quite quickly.

✦ MUSIC Robin knows how to play the piano. Not professionally of course, but she knows enough to carry a song.Her aunt forced her to learn as a young child so that she might serve as entertainment for the family or any guests they might have. After all, she “wasn’t good for much else”.Robin hasn’t touched a piano in many years - but maybe one day, for someone she holds dear, she may play again.

✦ BACK SCARS Looking at her face, you’d never guess how disfigured her back is. It’s one of the reasons she wears her hair down so often, especially when she’s wearing an open-backed shirt or dress.She has scars over the rest of her body, of course, some worse than others, but her back is something else entirely.Stemming initially from injuries sustained over the years while running away from pursuers (cuts, shallow bullet wounds, gashes etc.) and from the burning of her homeland, the worst of it came when she was hurt by those she worked for and eventually captured and sent to a place called Tequila Wolf, a massive bridge that had been under construction for hundreds of years meant to connect landmasses together across the sea.A bright idea, maybe, but it had been subsisting entirely on slave labor from the start. It’s guards and overseers lacked any humanity in them as they forced people to work from birth to seniority until they simply keeled over in the snow that covered the entire bridge.This cruelty is where her most of her deeper bacl scars come from.Once transferred to the remote location, she was interrogated (or it was attempted at least) but when she would not break, teasing her captors on how to properly treat a lady, the torture began.(Heavy TW for torture and abuse ahead)Soaked in water in below-freezing temperatures from head to toe while wearing the thinnest and most revealing worker uniform they had, she was beaten and assaulted- but still, she would not bend.Finally, it culminated in whippings, frozen, frayed rope slicing open her skin as she hung from her wrists and all the while barely allowing herself to cry out more than a slight sound so as not to give them the satisfaction.In the end, when she was left to hang there for days afterward, blood-freezing to her skin and open wounds, the torture continued on and off until eventually, they realized she wouldn’t talk and would be more useful as a worker until the world government came to take her to prison.Tossed into the worn-down barracks and left there, her horrendous wounds were treated by workers to the best of their abilities who took pity on her.Eventually, she escaped Tequila Wolf, but her back would never be the same.The damage they’d done had been too deep and the wounds that had been left to fester, opened and reopened again and again at the smallest hint of healing. She bears the long, jagged & ugly scars there, and prefers now not to show them to anyone, especially someone she’s close to, lest they scare them off.If someone sees them, it’s usually an accident, and she’s left hurrying to cover them up or move out of sight the moment it happens.

✦ SWIMMING No matter what verse or au she’s in, Robin can’t swim whether it be from biological or magic reasons.Bathing or shallow water is fine where she can stand or sit but if you just drop her into the water she will sink like a stone.

Consider, if you will, a pair of phantom arms, beautiful in their grace, blooming from nothing - only to snap your neck with a sickening crack in the blink of an eye.Now imagine 50 pairs at once, now 100, now 1000 - Killing an army's worth of men in a moment's notice.Imagine phantom eyes peering from the darkness, taking in dangerous secrets for their mistresses use.Imagine towering phantom arms crushing a skyscraper or cracking stone off a mountainside.Imagine clones, a beautiful mirror image of their mistress’ form, lulling one into a false sense of security as they whisper in your ear.All of these abilities and more appearing and disappearing in a swirl of phantom petals.Robin has had twenty years to develop her powers and it would be in your best interest not to let your guard down.The cons? She can feel anything her phantom parts do, which includes pain. She can also suffer from the same damage that they do on her real body if it is significant enough. It also takes an incredible amount of energy to use her ability with massive numbers and can tire her out, leaving her vulnerable.

IMPORTANT TERM DEFINITIONS:

NOTE: The following explored techniques & abilities will be portrayed keeping in mind that I headcanon her with Haki in her canon universe, as it makes little to no sense that someone as brilliant as Robin would not have learned Haki from her time training with Revolutionaries or developed it all those years on the run.In her own canon, wanting to become stronger, Robin begins studying human anatomy and biology while on the run and then extensively with the help of Doctor and Surgeon, Trafalgar Law later down the line. Otherwise, in any other verse, she studies entirely on her own. Using what she learns, she creates new techniques.Potentially gains the moniker(s): “Hand of Nika” , “Hand of the Sun”, “Hand of God”, or “Hand of The Sun God.” after Luffy’s (her captain in her canon verse) new form and her place at his side.

✦ Espejo Fleur; (Mirror Flower). The awakened ability to create clones or replicas of anything she touches until she is out of contact with said object or being as it is technically part of her body for as long as she remains in contact. If it is a being or person she touches, they can feel anything the clone feels just as she can feel anything her replicas can. They can do basic movements like walking, expressions, simple words and some fighting, but they will not have any personality of the original person. Imagine it as a puppet or blank avatar.She cannot use someone else’s powers through a clone as they are connected to someone’s spirit/very being, something she cannot replicate since she can’t touch it. Physical Abilities can be used through a clone, however, like a Fishman’s (an aquatic race from her canon verse) superhuman strength or speed, though she must have extensive knowledge on how the original person’s abilities work, and she cannot use them for long periods of time, as this can drain her stamina quickly.This particular ability is good for undercover work, intel gathering and interrogation. It requires an extreme use of stamina, and she must use it sparingly unless it is on smaller or less complicated objects or beings.

✦ Voz Fleur; (Voice Flower). With this ability, she can replicate her inner voice/thoughts into someone's mind that she can see, essentially giving her the ability of one-way telepathic communication. & When combined with her Observation Haki, she could project her voice into the minds of multiple people at a sizable distance, though only for a short amount of time if it is a high number of people.✦ Mostrar Fleur; (Display Flower). Similarly to the previous ability, she can replicate a visual she’s seen or is thinking of in someone's mind like a telepathic picture. & When combined with her Observation Haki, she could project images into the minds of many at a sizable distance, though only for a short amount of time if it is a high number of people.

✦ Sueño Fleur; (Dream Flower). Like her inner voice and mental images, with this awakened ability Robin can replicate any sensation or emotion she’s feeling in someone’s mind (i.e things like pain or sadness) and amplify it as she does by making body parts larger than their original size. Both are only temporary and using this ability takes focus and a large amount of stamina. Using this ability on multiple people at once more than triples the strain on her body, and she is left vulnerable while using it, as it takes all her focus. (Other Possible Names: Alucinar Fleur or Hallucinate Flower // Espejismo Fleur or Mirage Flower).Examples: Say she has a small cut on her arm, with her awakened ability Robin can replicate that feeling in someone else’s mind and amplify it until they feel as though their arm has been cut off.She can think of something small that makes her sad like a book being damaged and replicate that feeling in someone’s mind, then amplifying it until they feel mind-numbing despair. The same can be done for things like anger, happiness, confusion, etc.Note: Thoughts she can create by thinking about them, but physical feelings she cannot. For example, she cannot make someone feel fatigued if she does not at least feel a little tired herself. Whereas she can imagine something that makes her uneasy, and use that to make someone feel terror by amplifying it, similar to how she can create giant arms based only on her real, smaller ones.
